Started in 2004 in Hong Kong, Jumping Frames is a biennial festival which aims to facilitate the conversation between two established art forms - Video and Dance. It is the only dance video festival in Asia that features both commissioned works and works for competition.

Jumping Frames: Beijing includes:

  • Masterpiece Films featuring Coffee With Pina by Israeli director Lee Yanor, revealing scenes behind the rehearsal room of tanztheater guru Pina Bausch, and an earlier film by French director, Chantal Akerman, entitled One Day Pina Asked Me, a journey with Pina Bausch through a European performance tour.
  • Competition Section showcases works selected from over 100 entries from all over the world
  • Hong Kong Dance Video Showcase
  • China Dance Video Showcase presenting the most interesting dance videos created by the driving force of the field in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
